A safe, permanent home isn't something that a child should only dream about...

Give Hope to a Child.

Gal Child Study

Bamberg County

Every day, abused and neglected children like Nate and Emily are taken from their homes and placed into temporary foster care. Guardian ad Litem (GAL) volunteers work to help these children find safe, permanent homes where they can thrive.

Volunteer and Give Hope to a Child.

26 Bamberg County children were in foster care on June 30, 2007.* Our volunteers are ordinary people who do extraordinary things for these most vulnerable children.

Emily is like the thousands of other children living in foster care in South Carolina.

Emily has been removed from her home because she was abused by her family members.

Click here to learn about Emily, and how a volunteer can give hope to children like Emily in foster care. Emily's volunteer will stay with Emily throughout her whole case, until she is placed in a safe, permanent home. Emily's volunteer is a powerful voice in advocating for Emily's future.

Nate's GAL visits him every month to make sure he is safe. He encourages Nate in school, and is always there if Nate needs to talk.

Click here to read about what Nate's volunteer GAL does to help reunite him with his mother. Nate's GAL stays focused on what is best for Nate, and speaks up for his best interest at all times.
